Social Justice
Everyone, no matter race, creed, nationality or familial status, deserves a clean, safe and affordable place to live.
Safety
Creating a peaceful, crime-free environment where all feel comfortable and protected.
Financial and Physical Management
Asset and property management services will focus on preventive maintenance plans and diligent financial planning.
Economic Development Initiatives
Job creation through empowering minorities, business development, commercial revitalization and reinvestment along commercial corridors to enhance a community’s landscape and allow for more business growth opportunities. By furthering the goal of increasing minority and MWBE participation to work as contractors on affordable housing and economic development projects.
Sustainable Development
A key priority is to develop projects that will enhance the aesthetics of the neighborhood and communities, while simultaneously reducing each building’s carbon footprint and resource consumption. Using sustainable and resilient construction practices will ensure the longevity of the project. Using sound building practices, construction methods and materials is essential to achieving this goal.
Health
Our primary concern is preventing building-related illnesses among children, including asthma-related illness and sick building disease, as well as other chronic illnesses that affect residents because of poorly maintained buildings. Non-smoking buildings initiatives are important as well active lifestyles for the residents through better design features.
A vital goal is to create healthy eating habitats within, around, and on affordable housing projects. This can also be an economic development opportunity to create businesses within the community (retail health food stores, healthy eating options, green grocery stores, green rooftop gardens).
Technology
A priority of this project is to incorporate the best technological advances to manage projects during and after construction (i.e., camera drones to inspect facades). This includes asset management, property management, project management, and accounting and bookkeeping software (security system and concierge services). We will incorporate system monitoring technology which includes building management systems used to manage and conserve energy consumption (energy management systems for boilers, water management devices on plumbing risers, solar panels). Furthermore, we believe in incorporating some of the latest affordable technology advances for our tenants around communications, mobile applications, and security.
Economic Advancement and Achievement
The goal is to provide the community with practical knowledge, training and resources to advance their lives and the lives of their families to be prepared to take advantage of opportunities in both job market and business for the 21st Century. This includes skills-based training programs, practical financial planning for families and individuals as well as cultivating resources in the community that are easily identifiable to these groups. The outcome is to have a community that is benefiting from the resources available or identify gaps in those available resources that need to be fashioned so that they can truly address their changing needs.
